Peanut butter + latte = perfection
Okay hear me out. I thought peanut butter in my latte would be weird too. BUT. It’s oddly realllyyyy good. My husband enjoys this over ice but I don’t mind it warm. There’s something about warm peanut butter that does it for me! This recipe has the perfect amount of sweet and salty for a latte. If you haven’t seen my last post about our espresso machine, check it out here. It’s held up great and it’s been two years. If you enjoy peanut butter and love lattes, you HAVE to try this peanut butter latte recipe!
I LOVE PEANUT BUTTER
My obsession with peanut butter started when I was pregnant with my first. I could eat an entire jar a month but after she was born, I couldn’t go near peanut butter. The smooth consistency gave me the ick and I have no idea why. Maybe hormones? Once I became pregnant with second, my obsession returned and I was back to eating it by the spoonful. Fast forward to my maternity leave with my third, and I still love peanut butter, thank you, thank you, thank you. We saw a post on TikTok for a peanut butter latte and decided to give it a try. The concept is odd, but honestly it’s one of my favorites!

Peanut Butter Latte Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 shots espresso
- 4 tbsp peanut butter
- 1/2 cup Trader Joe’s oat beverage
- Splash of Trader Joe’s cinnamon bun oat creamer
If it seems like too much peanut butter for you, try less. The flavor is more powerful the more peanut butter you use.
Cold:
- Make your two shots of espresso
- Use a handheld frother to mix the peanut butter with the oat milk for at least a minute
- Steam the peanut butter mixture (even though you’re drinking it iced, this helps cream the mixture)
- Add ice to a glass cup and pour the espresso over the ice.
- Pour the peanut butter mixture over the cold espresso
Hot:
- Make your two shots of espresso
- Melt the peanut butter in the microwave for 30 seconds
- Use a handheld frother to mix the peanut butter with the oat milk for at least a minute
- Steam the peanut butter mixture
- Pour over the espresso shots
Try it and let me know what you think!
How do we grind?
Our favorite coffee bean grinder is made by KitchenAid. We used to get a cheap grinder off Amazon but it would only last two years. The beans would get stuck in the gears and it was impossible to clean. I’m so happy we finally invested in a better burr coffee grinder. It has different grind size settings from coarse for cold brew and French press to fine for espresso. We notice a big difference in the quality of our coffee when we use fresh grounds vs. pre-packaged ground coffee!
The Nespresso machine I brought to work is $50 off on Amazon this week! Check it out here.
